Venezuela

A country of stunning natural beauty, all of South America in miniature within its borders: the snow-capped Andean peaks in the west, huge areas of Amazonian rainforests in the south, miles of Caribbean shoreline in the north, Venezuela deserves to be in the headlines in reasons greater than oil politics and President Hugo Chavez. It is the sixth largest Latin American country, but it is a contender for the much larger countries like Brazil and Argentina in terms of  landscapes, though in reality, comparing its geography really doesn’t do it justice. Venezuela is simply unique.

With the nation’s few geographical superlatives, including the world's highest waterfall, Angel Falls, plummeting almost 1000 meters from the top of a tepui, and South America's biggest lake, Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela is a thrill seeker’s destination teeming with magnificent collection of scenery and experiences. Visitors have a wealth of activities to choose from, whether action-packed adventure in high Andean peaks and tropical lowlands, or a laidback resort experience in the clear, warm waters of Caribbean coastline. In Caracas, the country’s capital, tourists can party till they drop in discos coming alive with rhythms from all over the Caribbean.
