Israel is a small yet diverse country in the Middle East with a long coastline on the eastern Mediterranean Sea. It borders Lebanon in the north, Syria in the northeast, Jordan in the east, and Egypt on the southwest. It is considered to be part of the Holy Land together with the countries Jordan, Egypt and the Palestinian territories.
The age of the cities in Israel is counted in millennia and has won them a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Jerusalem, the country’s capital, is one of the oldest cities in the world and is home to sites of the key religions of Christianity, Judaism and Islam like the Temple Mount, the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa Mosque. Israel also boasts a number of modern unique edutainment attractions that families would love like Jerusalem’s Time Elevator, Mini Israel, the new Kings City in Eilat and the Haganah Museum.
