The largest island in the Caribbean, Cuba is situated between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. It lies south of Florida, between the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas and northwest of Jamaica. Cuba is home to over 11 million people and is the most populous insular nation in the Caribbean.
Havana is the largest city in Cuba and is the country's capital. Santiago de Cuba and Camagüey are also major Cuban cities. Better known smaller towns include: Baracoa which was the first Spanish settlement on Cuba, Trinidad which is a UNESCO world heritage site, and Bayamo.
