Located in the northwestern South America, Colombia has the third largest Spanish-speaking population in the world after Mexico and Spain and with an area size more than twice that of France. It is the only country that has coastlines fronting the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean. Stretching north to south, the Andes divides the country into three huge branches: the Caribbean coast with the majestic Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta; the Pacific coast, full of unexplored vast jungles, and the Orinoquia or the Amazonian region, with its virgin and wild lands, some of which are untouched by humans to this day.
