Chile

Situated south of Peru and west of Bolivia and Argentina, Chile the longest country in the world, fills a narrow strip between the Andes and the Pacific. Covering one-third of Chile is the towering ranges of the Andes that contain 50 active volcano peaks. The Atacama Desert in the north is the driest place on Earth and at the center is the thickly populated valley with most of Chile's arable land. At the southern tip of Chile's mainland is Punta Arenas in Patagonia, the southernmost city in the world and beyond, lies the Strait of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego, an island divided between Chile and Argentina.   
Opportunities for the ultimate outdoor experience abound the country. One may hike, bike, ski, surf, swim, engage in white-water rafting, horseback riding and even paragliding in desert or ice fields.
