Austria

One of the federal republic states with a parliamentary democracy, Austria consists of nine federal states, each with its own provincial government. The country is a member of the European Union, and the United Nations with around eight million inhabitants, of which 98% speak German and the 6 ethnic groups that are officially recognized in the country include Burgenlandic Croatians, Roma, Slovaks, Slovenians, Czechs and Hungarians.

For tourists, Austria is famous for the Alpine peaks which are perfect for skiing, sophisticated Vienna for the Habsburg palaces, Salzburg for its Baroque splendor and Innsbruck for one of the largest ski resorts in the country.
